S'well silicone straw sets are sized for specific tumblers. Learn which straw set fits your 30oz Tumbler XL and how to choose replacement straws that work.
Quick answer
No. S'well straw sets are sized for specific tumblers, so a set made for the 30oz Tumbler XL will not be the right length for a smaller 12oz tumbler. Check the product name for the size it was designed for before you buy. If you own the 30oz Tumbler XL, choose the silicone or stainless steel straw set made for that exact size.
Why straw length changes with tumbler size
A straw only works well when it reaches from the bottom of the cup to a comfortable height above the rim. A 12oz tumbler is shorter than a 30oz Tumbler XL, so a straw cut for the larger cup will stick up too far and feel awkward, while a straw cut for the smaller cup may sit too low or fall inside. That is why S'well labels straw sets by the tumbler size they were made for instead of selling one universal length.
What to check before buying a replacement straw set
Start with the size printed on your tumbler or its original packaging. Then match that number to the straw set name. If you are buying for the 30oz Tumbler XL, look for a set that says 30oz Tumbler XL in the title. If your tumbler is a different size, a set labeled for 30oz is not the right match even though the material and color options may look identical.
Silicone vs stainless steel straw sets for the same tumbler
Both the 30oz Tumbler XL Silicone Straw Set and the 30oz Tumbler XL Stainless Steel Straw Set are made for the same 30oz Tumbler XL, so the fit is the same. The difference is how they feel and wear. Silicone is soft and quiet against the teeth, while stainless steel is firmer and stays cooler. Choose based on mouth feel and cleaning preference, not on size, because both sets are cut for the same cup.
When a flip straw cap is the better answer
If you want to sip upright without handling a loose straw, the Flip Straw Cap is an accessory that changes how you drink rather than adding a straw to the cup. It flips open for upright drinking and flips closed for leakproof carrying. It is a separate accessory, so confirm it is offered in a size that matches your tumbler before ordering.
Straw fit FAQ
- Will a 30oz Tumbler XL straw set fit a 12oz tumbler?
- No. The 30oz set is cut for the taller 30oz Tumbler XL. In a shorter 12oz tumbler, the straw will sit too high above the rim and feel unstable. Match the straw set name to the ounce size on your tumbler.
- Do S'well straws fit all tumblers?
- No. S'well sizes straw sets to specific tumblers, so a set made for one size is not a universal replacement for every cup in the lineup. Treat the size in the product name as the compatibility guide.
- Can I use a straw set from a different brand?
- You can try, but length and diameter vary by brand, so an off-brand straw may not reach the bottom or may fit loosely in the lid opening. A S'well set made for your tumbler size removes the guesswork.
Straw options that match the 30oz Tumbler XL
- 30oz Tumbler XL Silicone Straw Set: Set of silicone straws made for comfortable sipping from your 30oz Tumbler XL, reusable to help reduce single-use plastic. This is the correct length for the 30oz Tumbler XL and a soft, quiet option if you dislike metal against your teeth.
- 30oz Tumbler XL Stainless Steel Straw Set: Reusable stainless steel straws with a flexi design for comfortable sipping from your Tumbler XL. Same 30oz Tumbler XL fit as the silicone set, but a firmer, cooler material for people who prefer metal straws.
- Flip Straw Cap: Flip Straw Cap flips open for upright drinking and flips closed for leakproof carrying. A leakproof sipping option for commutes and bags, but it is an accessory with its own size options, so match it to your tumbler.
